Objective:
Creative strategy for music artist Richie Quake.
Insight:
Richie Quake is known as the New York downtown DJ rather than the New York downtown artist. With the upcoming release of his single Nothing in My Head, which takes a new musical direction, he needed help re-introducing himself.
How:
I worked with Richie to create original content, brand identity, styling and strategy for digital media that would push him as the artist and DJ. I created his logo, album artwork, merchandise, social posting strategy as well as producing a number of photoshoots that I scouted, styled, casted and photographed.
Working with Richie, I coordinated the single release party to be at Public Arts on Friday, August 31st as a private event. Because it was just Richie and I planning the event, I also acted as his publicist, posting the event on multiple sites and reaching out to media.
Results:
We received over 400 RSVPs putting the venue over capacity, secured a liquor sponsorship and within a week ‘Nothing in My Head’ had over 60,000 streams, making it his second most popular release and most popular solo release. The single was selected for the Spotify Fresh Finds playlist and is currently sitting at 150,000 total streams across platforms.
